What does Omni do with a capture?
One capture becomes either of two things, depending on what you need:
A step-by-step procedure
A literal, documented procedure with the screenshot for each step as evidence. The runbook that never existed, written by doing the job once.
A distilled process model
The capture joins your connected model: steps linked to the systems they run in, the people who perform them, and the data they touch, ready to question and redesign.
Everything stays on the device it was recorded on until it is exported, and password fields are never captured. The privacy policy documents exactly how captures are handled.
Common questions
Does the Process Recorder need any integration or IT project?
No. It is a Chrome browser extension the person doing the job installs themselves. There is no system integration, no instrumentation, and nothing for IT to deploy. If someone can do the job, the process can be captured today.
Where does the captured data go?
Nowhere, until you decide. Everything the recorder captures is stored only on your own device until you choose to export it as a single self-contained file. The extension makes no network calls to Valstra and never captures password fields. See our privacy policy for the full detail.
