Common questions

Is my capture uploaded when I open it here?

No. The file is opened and rendered entirely in your browser. Your capture, its screenshots, and anything you typed stay on your device. It only reaches Valstra if you later create an account and choose to save it to your library. We do record anonymous, cookieless usage statistics when a capture renders: the number of steps and the domain of the site it was recorded from (like salesforce.com), never the contents.

What file does the viewer open?

The self-contained .html document exported by the Valstra Process Recorder browser extension (legacy .json exports work too). Anyone can open a capture here for free, with no account: if a colleague sent you one, just drop it in.

What does a free account add?

Saving captures to a private cloud library on valstra.tech, where you can reopen them anywhere and share any capture with a link (viewing a shared capture needs no account either). Viewing is always free. Paid plans add Omni, which reads a capture and builds a living, editable process map from it.
